PURPOSE: To simplify structure and assemblage of a manual transmission by providing an independent sub-assembly for a shift lever and an attaching structure for the shift lever.
CONSTITUTION: A manual transmission to be used for an engine-driven automobile is provided with a main shaft 36, a countersahft 58, gearings 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 66, 70, 74 and 78 and a synchronizer clutch structure, and the clutch structure is so arranged as to be accommodated well to a shift link mechanism for operating synchronizer clutch sleeves 112, 122. The synchronizer clutch device for enabling approach of the shift link mechanism to be operated by a driver to the synchronizer clutch sleeves 112, 122 gives a sufficient shift pattern to a shifter to be controlled by the driver, minimizes stack-up tolerance errors and enables simplified assembling of a link mechanism.
