Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent solidification of cast alloy material before forming at least at a portion requiring abrasion resistance in a body formed of steel material by preheating the portion. CONSTITUTION:In manufacturing, at least a cam contact portion 3 which is provided at the lower end of a body 4 of a valve filter 1 and adapted to come in sliding contact with a valve driving cam is preheated by heating means such as a high frequency coil 11 in a nonoxidizing atmosphere such as an inert gas atmosphere. Then, melted cast alloy material 3a is injected from a crucible 12 into a recess 7 of the body 4. Thereafter, a forming die 13 is pressed against the cast alloy material 3a to solidify the same so as to form the cam contact portion 3 in a required shape. Thus, preheating of the cam contact portion 3 permits the deposition efficiency of the cast alloy material 3a to be improved and solidification thereof before forming to be prevented.
