PURPOSE: To densely form bonded ultra-hard abrasive particles on a substrate by removing the liquid and the binder from the slurry in a counter, placing the container under the condition of high pressure and high temperature, converting the slurry to a layer of the bonded ultra-hard abrasive particles to be bonded to the substrate, and removing the container from the layer.
CONSTITUTION: The slurry 12 of the prescribed quantity is placed in a container 10, a substrate 14 is inserted in the container 10 so that the slurry 12 is compressed between the container 10 and a surface of the substrate 14 to which bonded ultra-hard abrasive particles are bonded. After the liquid and the binder are completely removed from the slurry 12, the container 10 is arranged in a reaction zone of a high-temperature/high-pressure apparatus. After the slurry 12 is converted to a layer of the bonded super-hard abrasive particles to be bonded to the substrate 14 by applying the conditions of the elevated high temperature and pressure to the container 10, the container 10 is recovered from the reaction zone, and the container 10 is removed from the layer of at least the bonded super-hard abrasive particles.
