The manufacturing method of this air electrode 1 contains a catalyst layer forming process in which a catalyst layer 3 is formed by applying a catalyst material containing a catalyst for reducing oxygen to a hollow current collector 2, a press roll process in which a porous film 4 is wound on the catalyst layer 3, and the porous film 4 is forced to attache to the catalyst layer 3 other than a first joining part having the specified length from one end in the winding direction to the catalyst layer 3 of the porous film 4 and a second joining part having the specified length from the other end of the porous film 4, and a joining process for stacking and joining the first joining part and the second joining part.
