PURPOSE: To raise the wear resistance of only a part of a member by placing in advance a porous body in a necessary part of a metallic die cavity, charging a hyper-eutectic Al-Si alloy molten metal of a specified temperature, and impreg nating the molten metal to the inside of the surface of the porous body.
CONSTITUTION: An annular ceramic quality porous body 3 is placed in a part corresponding to the first ring groove of a piston casting use metallic die 2, and also its porous body 3 is preheated to a temperature of ≤700°C. Subsequent ly, a hyper-eutectic Al-Si alloy molten metal 4 of a temperature within a range of ≤850°C and ≥liquidus line temperature + 50°C is charged and brought to pressure casting by a plunger 5. After it has been coagulated, it is take out of the metallic die and the part of the porous body 3 is removed by a cutting work, etc. In this way, a fine pro-eutectic Si is distributed with a high density to the inner wall of the first ring groove and the vicinity of the bottom part, and a piston made of an Al-Si alloy by which the pro-eutectic Al is not crystal lized to other part or its crystallization quantity is small is obtained.
