PURPOSE: To improve working efficiency by inserting with pressure a cathode collecting bar which is heated to a temperature higher than the softening point of insulated sealng material into a blind hole or through hole formed at the center of said insulated sealing body, and also enhance liquid leak resistance by improving air-tightness between the cathode collecting bar and sealing body.
CONSTITUTION: A zinc cathode gel body 1, a separator 2 impregnated by alkali electrolyte and a manganese dioxide anode body 3 are crammed within a anode metal case, and the opening area is closed with an insulated sealing body 5 made of polypropylene. The sealing body 5 is provided with a blind hole 51 and a cathode collecting bar 6 having a diameter larger than the diameter of blind hole 51 is inserted with pressure into the cathode body 1 through the blind hole 51 while it is heated up to a temperature higher than the softening temperature of polypropylene. Thereby, the internal wall of a hole of sealing body 5 being in contact with the collecting bar 6 is softened and thereby the collecting bar can easily be inserted without requiring much labor, thus improving working efficiency and simultaneously the softened sealing body is closely in contact with the collecting bar and hardened, ensuring high air-tightness.
