PURPOSE: To obtain the titled alloy having enhanced physical properties and saving silver by mixing a cnventional alloy for dental silver amalgam with a metal such as stainless steel or Co other than Ag, Sn, Cu and Zn after plating the metal with Ag, Sn, Cu or Zn.

CONSTITUTION: A spherical and/or cut alloy for dental amalgam contg. Ag, Sn, Cu and a small amount of Zn is mixed with powdered stainless steel, Co, Cr, Ni, Fe or a mixture thereof after plating the metal with Ag, Sn, Cu or Zn. The resulting alloy forms uniform amalgam by kneading with mercury, and a reduction of so-called γ2 phase is recognized.
