Title:
MANUFACTURE OF ALLOY FOR RARE EARTH METAL BOND MAGNET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05311270
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve and stabilize the magnetic characteristic of the bond magnet by suppressing the turbulence of the molten metal flow and executing columnar crystalization of the alloy casting structure in casting the alloy for R2TM17 bond magnet.

CONSTITUTION: A molding nozzle or a tundish is elevated according to the elevation of the poured molten metal surface in manufacturing the alloy for rare earth metal bond magnet by casting the R2TM17 alloy consisting of the rare earth metal element (referred to as R) and the transition metal (referred to as TM) into the mold. And at the same time, the mold is assembled upward according to the elevation of the poured molten metal surface. Downsizing and high performances of motors and the electronic equipment with such motors mounted thereto can be achieved due to the stable production of the high performance R2TM17 bond magnet.
