Abstract:
PURPOSE: To manufacture an aluminum alloy casting-made cylinder head with a gravity casting method low cost without bringing about the increase of material loss and the machining working trouble.
CONSTITUTION: In a cavity 25 for casting the cylinder head formed in a casting mold 23, 24, the molten aluminum alloy is poured so as to flow into a cavity 27 for feeder head formed so as to communicate with a boss part 20 for fitting an ignition plug in the cylinder head in the cavity 25. Successively, to the boss part 20 for fitting the ignition plug, after the feeder head part 28 integrally communicating with this boss part 20 is cut off, the machining work for boring a hole 19 for fitting the ignition plug is applied.
