Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for manufacturing anode foil for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor in which the effective surface area of aluminum foil is large.
SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing anode foil which is subjected to electrochemical etching comprises at least a first stage of etching, a middle stage of etching and a last stage of etching. In this case, by applying current at the time of the middle stage of etching in two steps in such a way that the current density in the second step is lower than that in the first step, and by repeating these two steps of operation at least twice for performing etching, the pit density in the middle etching stage can be furthermore increased and anode foil for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor exhibiting a large effective surface area of aluminum foil can be obtained.
