Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous dispersed solution of a cationic water-soluble polymer which is easy to handle and applicable as it is as products such as a flocculant or chemicals for paper, etc.
SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing an aqueous solution contg. a cationic polymer comprises polymerizing a monomer contg. N-vinyl carboxylic acid amide shown with the general formula of CH2=CHNHCOR (wherein R is a hydrogen atom or methyl group), in the presence of a polyethylene glycol and/or a polypropylene glycol, in an aqueous medium, and modifying the polymer obtd. with an acid or a base.
