Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent any deformation of a cam profile by fitting a cam piece around a hollow shaft, surrounding the cam piece with backup rings which are possible to slightly contract in the radial direction and then expanding the hollow shaft by means of bulging process. CONSTITUTION:A cam piece 3 is fitted around a hollow shaft 2. The cam piece 3 is surrounded with backup rings 7, 8 the outer circumference of which are held by bulge molds 12, 13 and which are possible to slightly contract in the radial direction due to slits 9, 10, 11. Next, the hollow shaft 2 is expanded by means of bulging process so as to engage with the cam piece 3. Thereby, it is possible to prevent any deformation of the profile of the cam.
