To provide an electrode plate for battery which prevents the slipping down of an active material from an electricity collector by forming an active material layer on the surface of a metal porous body equipped with mesh-form apertures having an undulate section furnished with crests, bottoms, and openings in the middle.
An active material layer 6 is formed on either or both surfaces of an electrically collector 1 consisting of a metal porous body having an undulate section and equipped with mesh-form apertures, and an electrode plate for battery is constructed. This porous body as electricity collector 1 is furnished with crests and bottoms 4 of undulation and openings 2 in the middle 5 or in such a way as ranging over crest and bottom. It is preferably that each opening 2 has a rhombic shape and one of diagonals constitutes crest or bottom. If necessary, a recess or projection whose peak is deformed up or down is provided in the crest or bottom which is formed in a straight line. The active material layer 6 is accommodated in an undulated part and coupled with surfaces of the electricity collector through the openings 2 and thereby prevented from slipping down along the surface of the electricity collector.
