PURPOSE: To numerously manufacture small sized oscillators, by gluing a rectangular crystal plate to a flat plate supporter, diagonally placing this supporter at a prescribed angle for a cylindrical body with a grinding wheel in the periphery, further relatively moving the cylindrical body in a diametrical direction of the crystal plate while rotating the cylindrical body, grinding and then cutting the crystal plate.
CONSTITUTION: A crystal plate 1 of rectangular shape is glued to a flat plate supporter 2 and fixed to a table 4 at a certain angle provided by an angle adjusting bed 3. Further a grinding machine 6 of cylindrical body grinding means, in which a grinding wheel 5 is formed in the periphery, is arranged in the upper of the talbe 4. The rotated grinding wheel 5 is contacted to the crystal plate 1, and a distance, between the supporter 2 and the grinding machine 6, is narrowed little by little at each time while causing either the grinding machine 6 or the table 4 to perform shuttling motion in a direction X-X', then both end parts of one main side of the crystal plate 1 is efficiently chamfered, thus a plano-bevel shaped crystal plate 10 can be obtained. Also the other side is similarly ground, and a double bevel shaped crystal plate 10 is cut in a required width.
