Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obviate both skin terminal treatment and preforming and improve the degrees of freedom of the forms of skin and of a formed article by a method wherein blow molding is performed under the condition that the end of the skin is held by a rid-like projection so as to push and form the skin by the expansion force of the parison in order to integrally join the skin with a blow molded body.
CONSTITUTION: On the molding surface 12 of a female mold 10, an endless annular rid-like projection 13, which projects beyond the molding surface 12. Under the state that polypropylene parison 3 is fed between the female mold 10 and a male mold 11, the molds are clamped and simultaneously pressurizing air is fed in the parison for blow-molding. Just after the feeding of the pressurizing air in the parison 3, the suction through a suction passage 14 is stopped. Thus, the holding of a skin 2 by the rib-like projection 13 is released, resulting in moving the peripheral part of the skin 2 towards its center by being pushed by the parison 3 so as to push and form the skin along the molding surface 12. Thus, a foamed layer 21 and the expanded parison 3 are integrally joined together through anchoring effect and fusion.
