Title:
MANUFACTURE OF BRAKE DISK MADE OF CARBON/CARBON FIBER COMPOSITE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08326803
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a brake disk that is excellent in the quality of sliding and whose initial cost can be reduced by administering the high precision treatment of the thin slabs of a carbon/carbon fiber composite material, then joining these thin slabs treated with high precision to strength member surfaces consisting of the carbon/carbon fiber composite material.

CONSTITUTION: A brake disk is manufactured by conducting, by means of bonding agents 3 that can withstand sufficiently friction heat torque, the joining and integration of highly fine treatment thin plates 1 consisting of a carbon/ carbon fiber composite material (c/c composite material) of 0.5-3mm thickness administered with resin impression treatment and carbonization treatment and graphitization treatment, and a base material 2 of a strength member consisting of an ordinary c/c composite material. These highly fine treatment thin plate 1 are formed, for example, by administering the carbonization treatment of a c/c composite material that is formed by the approximate 3:7 ratio combination of about 10μm diameter and 400μm length pitch system short fiber and a thermosetting phenol resin matrix, and in addition by impregating the phenol resin and administering graphitizing treatment.
