PURPOSE:To obtain stabiized attenuation force for a car height adjuster and to prevent generation of abnormal sounds thereof, by securing one end of a flexible member for forming a sealed space onto a cylinder of a hydraulic damper, and thereafter by attaching a head flange of the hydraulic damper to the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:On a cylinder 1 is attached one end of flexible member 15 by a stop ring 17 and fixed thereto by caulking using a press or the like. An oil is introduced into an inner cylinder 2, and then a rod assembly comprising a rod guide 4, a piston 8, etc. is introduced into the inner cylinder 2. Thereafter, a head flange 6 is welded under pressure to the cylinder 1, and other end 15a of the flexible member 15 is folded to be inserted into a protection cylinder 12. The other end 15a of the flexible member 15 is fixed to the protection cylinder 12 by a stop ring 16, and finally a flange 14 is welded to the protector 12. Thus, the looseness between the cylinder 1 and rod guide 4 can be removed, so that intrusion of compressed gas into the cylinder 1 or leakage of the oil may be prevented and the attenuation force can be stabilized.
