To prevent sticking of a molding vessel and a metallic ingot which occurs when a molten metal is poured in the molding vessel and, reduce generation of a crater on an ingot surface by using the molding vessel wherein a coating layer composed of a metallic oxide is formed on its inner wall.

A coating layer of a metallic oxide is preferable to be formed on an inner wall of a molding vessel via a pre-coated layer. It is suitable that a metal is an alkaline metal and the coating layer of the metallic oxide is that of the alkaline metallic oxide. Also, the coating layer of the alkaline metallic oxide is desirable to be the coating layer formed with evaporation by burning the alkaline metal. When the pre-coating layer is formed, a die release agent such as a silicon oil is used and, for improving a sticking performance with the molding vessel inner wall, an inner wall surface is better to be scratched in advance by grinding with a sand-paper.
