To provide a manufacturing apparatus of a cathode-ray tube eliminating wastefulness of a phosphor and capable of arbitrarily controlling a film thickness of the phosphor in a panel inner face.
When red, green, and red colored phosphors 18B, 18G, and 18R are formed in a desired pattern by an application head 29 on an inner face of a panel 11 at which a pattern of a black film 13 is formed, the position and shape of the black film 13 are detected. According to the detected position and shape information, the application head 29 is moved along the black film 13, and a desired phosphor pattern is applied and formed in the inner face of the panel 11. The desired phosphor pattern is applied and formed in the inner face of the panel 11 by moving the application head 29 of the phosphors 18B, 18G, and 18R along the black film 13. The film thickness of the phosphors 18B, 18G, and 18R can be arbitrarily controlled without requiring a conventional large-scaled facility or applying a wasteful phosphor, and the phosphor film can be made uniform.
