PURPOSE: To form a preferable reflection preventing film uniformly and stably in a short time by forming the reflection preventing film on the outer surface of a face plate of a cathode-ray tube using a pair of fixed spray nozzles.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of spray nozzles 20a, 20b fixed at an interval to half separate the outer diameter of a face plate 11 of a cathode-ray tube are moved in directions 27, 28 in such a way as to scan half the outer surface of the face plate 11 respectively while spraying, the spray nozzles 20a, 20b and the cathode- ray tube are rotated by 180° relative to each other, and the spray nozzles 20a, 20b are moved in directions 29, 30 inversely in such a way as to scan half the outer surface of the face plate respectively while spraying. A spray time can thus be reduced almost to 1/2 compared to using a single spray nozzle, and a uniform and preferable reflection preventing film can be formed stably.
