Title:
MANUFACTURE OF CERAMICS SUPERCONDUCTIVE WIRE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01264115
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a material having the quality of superconduction, particularly higher critical electric current density by applying powders made up of the same material as a filling material to the surface of an outer cover material and annealing it after cold rolling the outer cover material filled with ceramics superconductive powder to form it in a line- or belt-shape.

CONSTITUTION: After weighing powders of yttrium oxide, barium carbonate and copper oxide to form a desired compound, mixing these powders uniformly and molding them, the powders are calcinated at 950degrees centigrade and broken into pieces again. Then the powders are filled into an outer cover material made up of silver or an alloy of silver and this is processed to a fixed size by wire drawing cold rolling. The next process is to apply mixed liquid made by mixing and kneading the calcinated powders with organic binder whose viscosity is comparatively higher to the outer side of the processed outer cover material. Next, after the wire material is annealed at 900-100degrees centigrade, the temperature is slowly lowered to 400-600degrees centigrade and kept at 400-600degrees centigrade for several hours to adjust the density of oxygen and after that slowly lowered. This process can provide a material having the quality of superconduction, particularly higher critical electric current density.
