Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable a molded chip seal to be taken out without generating any deformation and damage by preventing the chip seal from being burnt by gas in the injection molding of the chip seal to be used for a scroll compres sor.
CONSTITUTION: Each cavity 3 for molding a spiral chip seal is formed between a fixed metal mold 1 and a moving metal mold 2. A plurality of pin holes 5 communicated with the cavities 3 are formed on the moving metal mold 2 in the longitudinal direction of the cavities 3. The positions of the projecting pins 6 positioned on both ends of the cavities 3 are set to the position within 2.5% of the total length of the cavities 3, from both ends of the cavity 3 and gas to be generated in molding of the chip seal is discharged outside from each clearance between each projecting pin 6 and each pin hole 5, so that the formed article is prevented from being burnt by gas. Moreover, the clearances between respective pair out of a plurality of projecting pins 6 are set within the radius of curvature of 100% over the total length of the chip seal, thereby the chip seal is prevented from being deformed and damaged in its ejecting process.
