PURPOSE: To manufacture the titled clad material which is free from the generation of non-pressure-welded zone, cracks, etc., at the explosion work, by making the angle of the butted and offset portion of at least two sheets of the raw material, to be under 20 degrees, and by carrying out the welding, at manufacturing the clad material for use of the explosive pressure welding.

CONSTITUTION: At manufacturing titled clad material of a large size hardly available from the market, the bottom face of the butted portion of two raw materials 1, 2, is worked to prepare the groove, and also, the offset portion is cut and welded forming the overlay weld zone 3; after that, the weld zone 3 is ground by the sander so as to make the angle α of the offset portion to be under 20 degrees (under 15 degrees is preferable). If the size of the offset of the offset portion is large, above angle α is made as small as possible. By explosive pressure welding of the clad material obtained according to this metod, onto the parent metal, the generation of non-pressure-welded zone, cracks, etc., due to the offset of the materials can be prevented, so that the obtained clad material is excellent for use of the explosive pressure welding.
