PURPOSE: To aim at increasing the strength in the inside circumferential direction and thinning and lightening a clamp head by forming a clamp head of a tool suitable for such operations as press application of erected electric wire cutting, connecting and the like upon performing die forging with hydrostatic pressure press machine on an A1 base fiber reinforced metal.
CONSTITUTION: A clamping tool has a nearly C shaped clamp head 11 with a dies 13 secured on the upper end of an inside circumference in the curved portion forming a hollow part 12 with its one side opened and a cylinder 15 is provided in the lower part opposite to the dies 13. A dies 14, which functions together with the dies 13, is arranged on the upper end of a ram 7 fitted inside the cylinder 15. In this case, the clamp head 11 is manufactured by applying die forging using a hydrostatic press machine on an A1 base fiber reinforced metal made by dispersing one kind or more than two kinds of reinforcements selected from a ceramic short fiber and ceramics whiskers contained in a matrix composed of A1 or A1 alloy, thus the clamp head 11 of increased strength toward the inside circumferential direction is obtainable.
