PURPOSE: To reduce a drawing force and to simplify a working process by welding by pressure and coating a metallic coating powder on the circumference of a wire rod by using a die having a ≥10° approaching angle in drawing a wire rod.
CONSTITUTION: A steel wire rod 1 is heated to 400°C by a heating furnace 4 after degreasing and polishing it, to form a thin oxide layer on its surface. Next, the wire rod 1 is introduced to an Al powder 2 vessel 5 in a high temperature state, to reduce an iron oxide on the surface of wire rod 1 by the Al powder 2. As a result, the Al powder 2 is stuck on the wire rod 1. A die 3 having a ≥10° die angle is provided to the other end of vessel 5, and the powder 2 is drawn into a bearing by the sticking and adhesive force, etc. caused by the thermit reaction of wire rod 1 and A powder 2. Then, the Al powder 2 is welding by pressure and coated on the circumference of wire rod 1, and an Al-coated steel wire 6 is obtained through the die 3. Thus the drawing force is reduced, and the need of soft annealing process is eliminated.
