Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the composite sintered body having high mechanical strength, by mixing the mixture of TiC and Ni powders in the powder of an incompletely-sintered body prepd. from the mixture of W2C and Co powders, compressing the composition, and then sintering it.

CONSTITUTION: The powdery mixture of 95W75wt% W2C powder and 5W25wt% Co powder is compression formed by 500W1,000kg/cm2, the formed body is heated at 700W1,200°C to obtain an incompletely-sintered body, and then it is crushed to form the powder of the incompletely-sintered body. In 30W70wt% the powder of this incompletely-sintered body, 5W25wt% the powdery mixture of 95W75wt% TiC powder and 5W25wt% Ni powder is mixed. This material to be sintered is compression formed by 500W5,000kg/cm2, and the formed body is heated at 700W1,000°C in the atmosphere of hydrogen gas to obtain a presintered body, and then the presintered body is heated at 1,350W1,550°C in the atmosphere of hydrogen gas to form the cmposite sintered body of W2C-TiC.
