PURPOSE: To manufacture the connecting rod main body part which generates no burr, and also, is free from rough surface on the surface, and is more excellent by strength of a small end part.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of manufacturing a connecting rod main body part 1 having a large end part 1b on one end side of a connecting rod part 1a, and also, having a small end part 1c on the other end side by extrusion, a large end part extrusion die 11 having a tapered part 11a corresponding to a shape of a shoulder part 1d of the large end part 1b, and also, having a bearing part 11b continued to said tapered part 11a, and a small end part extrusion die 21 having a tapered part 21a corresponding to a semicircular part 1e of the small end part 1c, and also, having a bearing part 21b continued to said tapered part 21a are used, the large end part 1b and the connecting rod part 1a are formed by executing extrusion to an extrusion billet by the large end part extrusion forming die 11, and also, the small end part 1c and an extrusion tip part 1f are formed by executing extrusion to the tip part of the connecting rod part 1a by the small end part extrusion die 21, and thereafter, the extrusion tip part 1f is eliminated.
