PURPOSE: To aim at improvement in efficiency for connector assembly by processing each metal plate work in the state that plural pieces are overlapped with one another so as not to cause respective contact parts to be superposed on a contact part of another metal plate work.

CONSTITUTION: A metal plate work, where each contact part 5 is fixed at regular intervals, is produced on a strip carrier part 4. Each contact part 5 of the metal plate work on one side is made so as to be situated in an intermediate position between contact parts 5 and 5 of the metal plate work on the other, that is, one another's contact parts 5 are made so as not to be overlapped, whereby two sheets of metal plate works are overlapped each other, by way of example. Next, both metal plate works are dipped in a plating solution or the like whereby plating treatment is applied to these contact parts 5, and each contact part 5 is removed from the carrier part 4 by turnup cutting, press cutting or the like, forming it into a connector contact. With this constitution, improvement in handling efficiency is well promoted.
