Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the transparent graft polymer free from white cloud by applying vibration at the time of graft polymerization and ensuring the unform monomer concentration. CONSTITUTION:The polymer to be used as the base material of the contact lens is the copolymer comprising at least one of siloxylated alkyl (meth)acrylate copolymers represented by formula I in which R is methyl or H; and each of X and Y is 1-6C alkyl, cyclohexyl, or the like. The manufacturing method comprises the step of applying discharge treatment to the surface in normal or reduced pressure, and a step of immersing the base material into the hydrophilic monomer solution, and the step of graft polymerizing the hydrophilic monomer with the surface of the base material while applying vibration to the reactants at the time of the polymerization processing.
