PURPOSE: To prevent excessive load from exerting on tip raw material, to prevent generation of eccentricity and a bend of a wire guide hole and to improve smoothness of the hole inside by using a preformed hole of a perforated bar as the wire guide hole without working thereon.

CONSTITUTION: The tip raw material 10 having the specified length corresponding to the length of the contact tip 1 is cut from the long-sized perforated round bar. A straight bar without the bend provided with a through hole 11 having the same diameter as that of the wire guide hole on its center is used as the perforated round bar. The tapered surface 2 is then cut by a cutting tool, etc., on one end side of the tip raw material 10 and the other end axis part 12 having the small diameter is cut. An external thread part 5 is cut by a threading tool, etc., on the axis part 12. A tapered part 7 for introducing a wire is cut by a tool on an opening of the through hole 11 on the external thread part 5 side. Lastly, parallel two planes 4 are cut by slicing, etc., on the symmetric positions of the peripheral surface of the tip raw material 10 on which the tapered surface 2 is formed. Consequently, the working time and the manufacturing cost can be reduced.
