PURPOSE: To provide a container for heat pipe, which is not provided with recess on the flaten part thereof.
CONSTITUTION: Upon manufacturing a container 1 for heat pipe, consisting of a metallic pipe having a circular section and flaten locally in the lengthwise direction thereof so as to have the shape of a flat plate, a rod type core member 3 is inserted into the metallic pipe material 2, having a circular section capable of being deformed plastically, along the axial line thereof. Subsequently, the metallic pipe material 2 is crushed radially so as to pinch the core member 3 to form a hollow flaten part 6. According to this method, recess is eliminated in the crushing process by pinching the recess between the core member 3 so as to be flatened even when the recess is generated in the crushing process thereof.
