Title:
MANUFACTURE OF CORROSION RESISTANT MATERIAL TO MOLTEN CARBONATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6358770
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture a corrosion resistant material to molten carbonate having high corrosion resistance under operating condition by performing surface treatment to a pure metal or an alloy by using alkaline solution.

CONSTITUTION: For example, Fe, Ni, or Cu is used as a pure metal. Stainless steel, an iron base alloy such as incoloy, or a nickel base alloy such as inconel is used as an alloy. 30 wt% alkaline aqueous solution containing at least one of LiOH, NaOH, and KOH is heated at 100°C or more. The pure metal or alloy required to be corrosion resistant to molten carbonate is immersed in this alkaline solution. By this surface treatment, for the alloy containing Fe or Ni, an oxide film or a hydroxide film mainly comprising Fe, Ni is formed on the surface of the alloy.
