Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent fine crack to become scab in a manufacturing method of Cr-Ni base stainless steel.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of continuously casting stainless steel which essentially consists of 16-35% Cr and 7-50% Ni and δ (cal) is ≤8, this method is composed of making the shape of slab so that thickness in the edge parts are thicker than that in the middle part of width, heating a slab cooled at a cooling rate of ≤30°C/sec between 1400°C and 1200°C and at ≥10°C between 1000°C and 500°C at 1000-Tγ°C for Kmin or more and executing hot rolling.
