Abstract:
PURPOSE: To quantitatively manufacture cuprous chloride by reacting an aqueous soln. contg. cupric chloride with a reducing agent such as gaseous sulfur dioxide while keeping the soln. at a specified pH.
CONSTITUTION: Alkali is added to an aqueous soln. contg. cupric chloride to keep the reaction system at 1W4.5pH, and the soln. is reacted with 1 or ≥2 kinds of reducing agents selected from gaseous sulfur dioxide, alkali hydrogen sulfites and alkali sulfites. As the alkali for pH adjustment 1 or ≥2 kinds of compounds selected from alkali carbonates and alkali hydrogencarbonates are used. Waste liquor after etching or the like may be used as the aqueous soln. contg. cupric chloride.
