PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of magnetic properties by surrounding a wound amorphous metal sheet with a fluid-tight film, by cutting the sheet into a desired shape after covering the outer peripheral face of the sheet with a shape-retaining agent, and by peeling off the fluid-tight film and shape- retaining agent to make the sheet into a core material.
CONSTITUTION: A core is formed while a tape-shaped amorphous metal film 1 is wound around it. Then, a tape as a fluid-tight film 2 is wound around the outside face of this core. A shape-retaining agent 3 is formed on the surface of this fluid-tight film 2 for the purpose of preventing the film 1 in a laminated state from getting out of shape. After a desired processing is conducted, the fluid-tight film 2 and shape-retaining agent 3 are peeled off so that a core material is obtained. The shape-retaining agent 3 is hindered by the fluid-tight film 2 from entering the core material and from deteriorating magnetic properties. Thus, it is possible to display excellent magnetic properties essential to an amorphous metal without diminishing such properties.
