PURPOSE: To cut off the molten metal heat onto an inner cylinder and to secure the dimensional accuracy of a cylinder sleeve by installing the cylinder sleeve consisting of the inner cylinder of a wear resistant powder metal and the outer cylinder closely fitted thereto on a mold and casting the cylinder block main body.
CONSTITUTION: A cylinder sleeve 3 is composed of the inner cylinder 3a made of a powder metal having a wear resistance and the outer cylinder 3b closely fitted to the outer peripheral face thereof. A rapid cooling solidified Al alloy powder is used as the powder metal and the Al alloy expansion material, etc., of A5052, etc., are used for the outer cylinder 3b. The cylinder sleeve 3 obtains a billet 7 by forming a powder metal circular columnar body 5 by fitting it to the cylindrical body 6 of Al alloy expansion material and fits to a container 10 toward the die 9 of an extruding machine 8 after heating. The die 9 and a mandrel 11 are pressed to the billet 7 by a ram 12, a cylinder sleeve 30 is obtd. and cut in the specified length. The adverse effect by the melting heat onto the cylinder is evaded, the dimensional accuracy of the cylinder sleeve is secured and the variation in wear resistant materials can be prevented.
