PURPOSE: To keep off any dislocation in a sleeve, by installing a prototype member of the sleeve having connecting parts at both ends in front and in the rear and being solidly formed in circular form, embedding it in an inner wall surface of a cylinder block by means of casting, and removing these connecting parts by metalcutting.
CONSTITUTION: A prototype member 3 of a sleeve 3a is provided with connecting parts 3d at both ends in front and in the rear and formed in a ring form. This member is put in a casting mold 15, and casting takes place with the inflow of molten metal 18, then an inner wall surface of a cylinder block 2 is subjected to metalcutting. Afterward, these connecting parts 3d are removed and divided into plural sleeves. Therefore, the casting is performable without entailing any dislocation of each sleeve.
