PURPOSE: To produce a fresh decorative metal sheet having high-grade sense by forming patterns having different flat part area ratios on the surface of a rolling roll by high energy density beams and transferring the patterns onto a metal sheet.
CONSTITUTION: A base metal 3 and patterns 4, 5 are worked to have different flat part area ratios Rf' by irradiation of laser beams 1 with a roll 2 rotating. Where, B' is the total area of projections whose max. height is ≥5μm from the roughness central plane, A' is the total area of the roll surface excluding the B', the flat part area ratio is explained by Rf'=A'/(A'+B'). The patterns having different flat part area ratios area formed by changing irradiation conditions. A metal sheet 9 is rolled by the roll 2 and the patterns 4, 5 are transferred onto the sheet 9. Hence, the fresh, unconventional metal sheet 9 having high-grade sense is obtained because of utilization of differences in reflectances.
