PURPOSE: To obtain stainless deformed flat steel excellent in yield in rolling and productivity by heating a coil base stock electrically, then, hot-rolling it into a steel strip having a square section, and shaping and rolling this steel strip into deformed flat steel at worm temperature or at cold temperature.

CONSTITUTION: Wire rod wound up in the shape of a coil 10 is used as a base stock 12 and this base stock 12 is drawn out and heated electrically to 900-1100°C. Then, the base stock 12 is hot-rolled by a hot rolling roll 20 into steel strip 24 having a square section. Continuously, the steel strip 24 is shaped and rolled at warm temp. or cold temp. by shaping and rolling machine 26 consisting of combination of a horizontal roll and a vertical roll into the deformed flat steel.
