Abstract:
A process for preparing a desacetoxycephalosporanic acid of the formulawhich comprises mixing at a temperature between 20 °C. and 100 °C. a cephalosporanic acid of the formulawith a tri(C1-C6 alkyl)silane in the presence of an organic acid having a pKa of less than 1.5 and a Lewis acid; wherein R is amino or disubstituted amino.
