PURPOSE: To provide a manufacturing method of a drawing wire rod, in which working man-hours can drastically be saved and the yield of a product can be improved and the manufacturing time can be shortened and also the manufacturing cost can be reduced.

CONSTITUTION: By producing the alloy-made continuously cast rod 3 for forging press having a prescribed diameter (e.g. 8mm) or less with the continuous casting method, each process of bloom-forging → surface grinding, cutting → forging →(surface grinding), cutting → hot rolling is saved and direct cold-wire drawing treating process is executed. Further, at the time of the cold-wire drawing treating process, at first, after giving stress to the continuously cast rod surface by applying the wire drawing having <10% reducing ratio of a cross section to the continuously cast rod 3, the surface structure is improved by a heat treatment and the wire drawability is improved.
