Abstract:
PURPOSE: To quickly and highly accurately control a butted shape by photographing a seam convergent position of a tube and detecting its butted shape.
CONSTITUTION: The seam convergent positions 3, 3' of the roll formed tube are photographed by a pair of facing image pickup devices 6, coordinates of the seam convergent points 3, 3' on the outside and the inside of the tube are found by picture analysis and a difference between the relative positions in the direction of the tube axis of the seam convergent points 3, 3' on the inside and outside is calculated to detect the butted shape. The difference between the difference of the relative position and the preset target value is compared and calculated and the butted shape is controlled in accordance with the value of its difference. As a result, the butted shape, when electric resistance welded tube is manufactured, can be measured and controlled quickly and highly accurately.
