Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a contact material having improved resistance to consumption and welding and maintaining its low contact resistance when alloy powder is internally oxidized and sintered to manufacture an Ag-SnO2-In2O3 type contact material, by adding the oxide of Sb, Bi or the like before carrying out sintering.

CONSTITUTION: Alloy powder consisting of 10W15wt% Sn, 2W6wt% In and the balance Ag is internally oxidized by heating in the air to prepare Ag-SnO2-In2O3 powder. To 100pts.wt. of this metallic oxide powder contg. Ag are added 0.5W 3pts.wt. in total of one or more among Sb2O3, Bi2O3, ZnO and Fe2O3 powders, and the resulting powdery mixture is molded and sintered to obtain a contact material.
