PURPOSE: To realize effective use of an original substrate surface by providing two functional areas between input/output areas provided to both sides of the original substrate, respectively, and by cutting the original substrate along a cutting line to separate each of input/output areas and each of functional areas.

CONSTITUTION: First functional areas 10a to 10c constituting a first device element and second functional areas 10'a to 10'c constituting a second device element are provided in opposition between first input/output areas 21a to 21c and second input/output areas 21'c to 21'c on an original substrate 1. A large area device is cut along a cutting line 32 which starts from one side of a large and device between the first input/output areas 21a to 21c and the second functional areas 10'a to 10'c and ends at the other side of a large area device between second input/output areas 21'a to 21'c and the first functional areas 10a to 10c. Thereby, a surface of the original substrate 1 can be used effectively.
