PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of a camber at the rolling time of an embossing by arranging the dull roll of the roughness complied with the embossing pattern in opposing to the roll with pattern and adjusting the rolling reduction rate of both rolls.
CONSTITUTION: The dull roll 2B rolling a metal strip 1 together with a patterned roll 2a is arranged in opposition to the patterned roll 2A subjected to an embossing. The roughness of the dull roll 2B is selected according to the embossing pattern and the rolling reduction rates of both rolls 2A, 2B is adjusted according to the embossing pattern. For example, in case of the embossing pattern being fine and complicated, the surface roughness of the dull roll 2B is made larger and the rolling reduction rate is made smaller. In case of the embossing pattern being simple, the reverse setting to the above is made. In this way the C camber of the embossing pattern giving rolling time can be prevented and the yield of the product is improved.
