Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide method and device for manufacturing a reaction pipe which serves as both a corona discharge and reduction catalyst in an exhaust emission control device for a diesel engine.
CONSTITUTION: A reaction pipe 530 of a corona discharge part provided on an exhaust system of an engine is prepared by molding corgurrite material through a die and formed as an upper mold 51 integrated with a fixed plate. It is connected to a lower mold 550 which is similarly molded to form a ceramic mold 500 through sintering. The mold is impregnated in molten metal 710 inside a bath 700 for plating. An anode is arranged in the reaction pipe 530, and the plating is connected to a cathode followed b corona discharge treatment. Exhaust gas is brought under emission control by a catalyst carried by the corgurrite.
