PURPOSE: To obtain the title rolling stock causing no internal cracking at the time of cooling at a low cost by successively subjecting an Fe-Cr-ACl steel ingot contg. prescribed amts. of Cr and Al to blooming, holding in a specified high temp. range and cooling to a prescribed temp. or below.

CONSTITUTION: An Fe-Cr-Al steel ingot contg. 12W26wt.% Cr and 2W6wt.% Al is bloomed to obtain a rolling stock such as a slab. In order to improve the toughness and oxidation resistance of the steel, ≤ about 0.5wt.% Ti, Nb or Zr and ≤ about 0.3wt.% Y, La, Ce or Nd may be incorporated into the ingot. The rolling stock is held in the temp. range of 800W1,000°C for ≥1hr and cooled to ≤300°C. An Fe-Cr-Al rolling stock causing no internal cracking at the time of cooling is obtd.
