Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method of manufacturing a flareless joint ferrule with only the tip part uniformly hardened, easily at a good yield and low cost.
CONSTITUTION: After plating a ferrule body with copper, the ferrule body is placed with the tip part down on a permeable sheet member soaked with a release agent so as to exfoliate copper only at the tip part of the ferrule body. The ferrule body is then quenched to harden only the tip part of the ferrule body.
