PURPOSE: To manufacture a sound fiber reinforced metal having no buckling, strain, etc., of the fiber by controlling progressing process of solidification so that the last solidified position of molten metal comes to the outside of a product of the fiber reinforced metal.
CONSTITUTION: Cross sectional area of metallic mold cavity 21 for the product part 1 of the fiber reinforced metal is made to small and the cross sectional area of the other parts 22 and/or 23 are made to larger than the cross sectional area of the product part 21. In this case, as the cross sectional area in are metallic mold cavity except the product part 22 and/or 23 is large, cooling speed of the molten metal becomes slow, and the molten metal temp. at this part is higher than the temp. at the product part 21. By this method, the fiber reinforced metal having no buckling, strain, etc., is obtd.
