PURPOSE: To improve moldability and strength by previously heating resin- immersed fiber bundle immediately before the fiber bundle is passed through a heating die, introducing it into a heating die in a state that the viscosity of the resin immersed with the reinforcing bundle is lowered, and molding and curing it.
CONSTITUTION: Long fiberlike reinforcing fiber bundle is immersed with thermosetting resin, and the resin-immersed fiber bundle is then molded and cured through a heating die. Immediately before the resin-immersed fiber bundle is introduced into the die, it is previously heated to lower the viscosity of the immersed resin, and introduced into the heating die. Here, a heating process for lowering the viscosity of the immersed resin is conducted by a heating device such as a heater, a heating oven, etc. The heat treating temperature may be a temperature to become 100 cps or less such as 30-150°C immediately before it is introduced into the die. Thus, even if matrix resin to be immersed and impregnated has high viscosity, a desirable fiber-reinforced resin molded form is obtained, and its strength is sufficient.
